Ms. Hearl is a junior at Western Michigan University studying secondary education English. As someone who struggled with the mental health stigma in health school, she never sought help, which took an effect on her learning. It was a teacher in her junior year that opened up about the stigma and experiences, which led her to take steps to improve her mental health. She has designed a unit that she hopes will be beneficial for both students and teachers to learn and move past the mental health stigma
